Cat Scratch Fever is the third studio album by American hard rock musician Ted Nugent. The album was released on May 13, 1977, by Epic Records. Vocalist Derek St. Holmes, who had left the band during the recording of the album Free-for-All, had come back for touring in 1976 and was again the principle lead singer on this album.

Oct 08, 2018  But above else, it is the story of his classic, celebrated albums, namely Ted Nugent, Free For All, Cat Scratch Fever, Double Live Gonzo!, Weekend Warriors, State Of Shock, Scream Dream and Intensities In 10 Cities.all so much furious fun we hadda name 'em all. Jan 03, 2018  Ted Nugent's Cat Scratch Fever is my favorite album from him. A great classic rocker from start to finish. The famous title track is my least favorite song on here, but that one is still good with an awesome riff. If you like Ted Nugent this is a must-have.

Personnel[edit]

Jun 08, 2019  Scream Dream should be an integral part of every Nugent fan's collection, and for those who want more representative efforts to mark different points in his long career, it should be the one for the post Cat Scratch Fever-Double Live Gonzo line-up. 'Wango Tango' is the go-to song for anyone calling the radio station requesting some 'Sweaty Teddy.' A Top 20 release, Cat Scratch Fever was the last Nugent release to feature his original solo band (St. Holmes, along with bassist Rob Grange, left for good in 1978). And while he enjoyed further chart success with such titles as Weekend Warriors and Double Live Gonzo, many consider Cat Scratch Fever to be Nugent's finest hour. Cat Scratch Fever' is a rock song by Ted Nugent that appears on the album of the same name. The song is well known for its signature riff, which is a 3-tone minor-key melody harmonized in parallel fourths. In 2009, it was named the 32nd best hard rock song of all time by VH1. As exciting as they were, Ted Nugent's first three albums lacked the sonic punch in the gut of his outrageous live performances, something readily proved by 1978's classic Double Live Gonzo! Both Nugent and his band are in top form, yielding a fierce performance of their numerous mid-'70s classics.

The tune was covered by Pantera for Detroit Rock City's CD soundtrack.[2] Their version peaked at 40 on the Mainstream Rock chart.[3] Nugent criticized the version claiming, 'It was exceedingly white. No soul, no balls, no feel. Caucasian all the way.'[4]
